This is ideally a blog on four things:
- Financial analysis of SEC filings
- My journey with learning emacs for workflow
- My journey with building digital maps using open source from the ground up
- Travel – which will probably coincide with my posts on digital maps
For financial analysis, I would like to focus on two aspects, one is generating a narrative over time and trying to understand key factors within the business that can provide signals to things outside of the company. For example, if Apple iPhone sales go down, what does that mean for Netflix? If anything at all.
On the emacs front, I want to motivate myself to understand emacs better and utilize org-mode to a more full extend. I have found the use of terminal along with emacs on my Mac has allowed me to organize my thoughts much better.
Finally, I want to try and get better at building digital maps and relaying my travel experiences using open source technologies. I believe that there is a lot more advancement needed in the mapping realm, one that is not only conducive to automobiles. Perhaps even writing about mapping and trying to eliminate the need for cars in many instances.
I am learning all these things along the way, so if you are reading, please do not take anything as 100% fact.
Also, this blog will probably be about book reviews to some extent.
